im considering of taking a secondary clan just because i can.
the names listed above, as far as i know, are actively playing and have their own decks. some are not there due to inactivity, unavailability, less "stage presence" or maybe just maybe they dont really exist, blah, blah, blah.
this is a survey about which clan i would take as my secondary this CE.
Dragon, Spider and Unicorn are already options.
Scorpion too rare intensive and i never really got to create a working deck though i had cards. (btw will be trading my Scorpy cards, CE legal for CE legal)

Miki may not have long to stay in Iloilo, so yeah, you can strike him out of the active Crab players list. And yet aside from Miki, John is also Crabbing, so is Dojimike and Raf. Yes, we are many against the few. Few being Cranes, hah!

Unicorn seems like a good Clan to take Greg, para maka practice man kami against Unicrons, being that they are the most Tournament viable Clan around since Lotus. Only that if you do take Unicorn, i'd probably be hating you twice more than legally prescribed

As always, my secondary decks are Ronin and Shadowlands Oni, though I tend to create a theme deck from time to time, maybe reconfiguring my Deathseekers and Monks to be CE legal.

But most likely, with the return of Hisao and friends, I might just be concentrating on just the three, provided that the Oni will have its own stronghold (Maw's Grave Version 2.0!) Right now, Mantis and the ronin peeps (fluffwise, bagay decks ko, hehehe) are mine, hehehe.

Starting tomorrow, Mrs. Bayushi will be working too giving me slack to be able to play actively again.

Ronin and Shadowlands dont count.
i dont want to be in "competition" with anyone active and has a deck of his own clan so i would choose the clan which is least represented.
ex. if raf builds a "thematic for fun" crane deck, i wouldnt count it as his clan. if Ace borrows John's Dragon deck, i wont count Ace as a Dragon.
and so on.

John's secondary is Crab, Mark E's secondary might be Dragon so that may remove the dragon from my list.
Mark Y will (or might) give up Unicorn so the ponies stay in the list.
Spider will be played by Mark Y and if Brendan will still play it, it'll be removed from my list.
Phoenix is powerful this CE, i think i might like phoenix since i played that clan back in Gold.

there's a very high chance i might choose Unicorn.
but it's not decided yet.

I'm considering playin multiple clans mwahaha

depending on card availability here are my options for secondary clans:

Dragon (monk, kensai, magistrate)
Unicorn (purely battlemaiden)
Crane (dishonor/honor only)
Phoenix
Spider

Since I don't have the monopoly of the clan and purchasing the cards, I would like to ask for your small, teeny weeny consideration...

Now I have to ask Mike for favors to purchase additional starter decks.
And what's worse is that I have to get it for additional muhlah. Nice going dude.

please be reminded that experienced iloilo players have been playing L5R for over 10 years and we have always supported our playgroup. L5R here is not just the cards. we will help you in anyway we can so you could have your starter all we ask is a little patience.

But just in case pare that we cannot find a way, just understand lang that we also did our best naman to help out, and that, eventually, it still will boil down on how you help yourself (which you already did by asking Mike for another Scorpy starter.) Sucre bleugh! It's higher than normal? I think even Manila is in short supply also!.

maybe a Dragon deck wasnt meant to be played by a Phoenix
rivals na sila eh.
if you plan to play spider, why not? maybe it would work to your play style.

Que? Ubos na ang Uragon starter? Ok lang na master Al ah, tutal dugay mo naman balak mag Espider. And Espider peeps can share spells with your Fire Chickens pa. Oh! And the playstyle is almost like...Tutori's Army! (well, the Spider Zombie Breeder is...)

Keep yourself cool. I wasn't aware that there were no more starters for our clan until I opened mine already. Only then was I informed that I purchased the last of their inventory of Scorpion starters.

I'm sure you will get your starter soon. Just be patient. I know how you feel, I've been there before.

I asked my sister in Manila to look for one and if she finds one, she has strict instructions to purchase them for me. And if she does it is yours at no extra charge. Don't worry, I told her to include the receipt when she sends it to me.


@Zands: Yeah, just a card that tells the owner where to download the rulebook. I also expected it to have a little literature for fun reading. Sigh, the global monetary crisis affected our game too.
