*Courtier mode on* Well, you see if you play Crab now it is not as they used to be before. It really does not matter if your champion is a 12 force powerhouse. There are MANY threats to that. Say poison tokens, seduction tokens, dishonor, cards like Dirrect Approach. There are lots of posibilities that could make the Crab champ the local chump. There are lots of clans to choose from Evil Devil. Like Lion, Crane, Unicorn, Phoenix, Mantis, Spider, Dragon and SCORPION. If you shall choose SCORPION I have most of a starter deck that I would be more than happy to lend you (until you can get one) and I'm sure that the other SCORPION players will do the same. Master Dondon and I will try and come up with a cardpool for you to construct your deck with. I will also personally make your mask if you choose to join the SCORPION clan and receive your gempukku. But, the choice is yours to make. Remember, the SCORPION will always have your back.*cortier mode off*
Oh my gad that's very subliminal! Mwahahaha! Reading all this makes me wanna play...CRANE! Mwahahaha! (subliminals fail)
Huo master Archie, these days Keywords are a bigger deal than they were before, and so far as Kensai keyword is concerned (Dragon, Scorpion and Spider have the most kensais) its a good mechanic. You can attach two weapons to a personality with the Kensai keyword, and as far as Celestial Ed is concerned, the best Kensai decks come out of Spider.
So really, Spider is that versatile. they can run big ass onis, have access to good shugenjas and monks (making Enlightenment a strong possibility), and have good Samurais. Spider is as versatile as Dragon, only with no Honor and more Onis!
Crab is pretty much the same as before, no major changes in their themes. Tough, hard to kill bastards. Very few proactive actions, but are more reactive in their abilities.
Scorpion dishonor is back with a vengeance! Although nowhere as powerful as they were sang Samurai (dishonor) they can still capably kill you with massive honor losses. they also have crazy-ass ninjas that give so many Poison tokens that not only reduce force and chi permamantly, but set you up many disabling and kill tricks (many cards key off on poison tokens).
