After studying the old map campaign I made, I developed a new one using simplified rules, namely:

1. You can attack several times per week with no restrictions
2. Map areas are decided on percentage wins.
3. We'll use Rokugan as a map basis.
4. You can attack anywhere without restrictions.

So how do we do this?

Let's say one of the Crab Clan's area, Kyuden Hida, is controlled by the Crab Clan because it has:

37 wins: Crab Clan
17 wins: Crane Clan
10 Wins: Dragon Clan
4 wins: Mantis Clan
1 win: Phoenix Clan

Since we're doing percentages, it would turn out to be:

53% Crab
24% Crane
14% Dragon
5% Mantis
1% Phoenix

Shows that Kyuden Hida is mostly controlled by Crab, with a slight infestation of Crane and Dragon. This way, we can play several games without restriction, have a target in mind i.e. area control.

Each Player starts with three areas each. Each has automatically 40 wins per area. You can attack anywhere, anytime. And maybe we can make he who controls most of Rokugan by the end of December gets to win a prize.

I'm cool with whatever master hehehe! Will need to brush up on our old Map Campaign rules first, though.

As we only played up a game master or three with the old Map Campaign master JP, mejo all of us (old players of the Campaign and new players of the Campaign) are starting out green, so we're pretty much all starting up from the ground floor again.

Master Raf (and this actually includes everyone) as easy as it is for me to say in my sleep-deprived state, methinks that maybe the rules could use more snippity snip? Less rules, less number crunching, to keep everything simple. I dont know if it is feasible or not (at the expense of game balance?) but it might be worth a shot. I will make my own proposed snippity-snips tomorrow myself. For now, Off to the haystack! :arrow:

Okay. All that you know in the Map Campaign V1, throw it away. Erase, delete, dissolve whatever. Now presenting:

Map Campaign V2: The War in Rukogan.

Each Clan starts with three areas. These areas represent your Clan Estates. Three of your areas are mostly controlled or "influenced" by you, there will be other clans inside the area.

So how does influence work?

An area called the Shinomen Forest is mostly influenced by the Spider Clan, as they control 48%, with Lion Clan coming in at 28% and Unicorn at 20%, and Phoenix foraging in at 4%. Sounds complicated?

It's very easy actually. You total the number of wins per area, divide the wins per clan, and you get the percentage, or "influence factor".

So if there are 84 wins in Shinomen Forest, and 40 of those wins comes from Spider Clan, 40 divided by 84 = .476 or 48%.

Comes clear now doesn't it? Now each clan has three areas. Each area already has 40 wins automatically, to represent their total influence. Once we start playing, those influence will dwindle or increase, depending on your win record.

Let me know if you guys are interested. I'm planning to print out a large map, post it at Alma's and update it once a week.

Again, the rules are simple:

1.Just play.
2.Report your wins.
3.You can only play on the area you have influence at. If you reach 20% influence in any area, you can attack adjacent area even without influence.
